Alltel Mobile Software Solutions offered a suite of mobile tools aimed at US agribusinesses, designed to help control labour costs, reduce crop risk and increase yields for an industry whose workers and equipment are spread across wide areas. The line-up included GPS-based fleet and equipment tracking, up-to-the-minute weather reporting, tablet-based digital data collection to replace paper field forms, and mobile email and web access so field staff could stay in touch with the office, all delivered over Alltel’s wireless network.
