Report

An Ericsson ConsumerLab report, ‘Bridging the Digital Divide’, published November 2013, on how mobile phones connect consumers across sub-Saharan Africa. Drawing on Ericsson’s global consumer research programme of around 100,000 annual interviews across more than 40 countries, the report examines the shift from basic to feature and smartphones, the factors driving uptake, mobile financial services, trust in mobile services, and the growing culture of mobile apps, describing the phone as increasingly central to daily life across the region.
