A working paper by David Lehr of Acumen Fund, with Eric Cantor of Grameen Foundation and John Paul of Cornell University, ‘Going Wireless: Dialing for Development’, examining how mobile devices were transforming economic development at the base of the pyramid. Funded by Acumen Fund and the Cisco Systems Foundation and published December 2007, the paper surveys mobile phones’ versatility for service delivery, from shared-access telephony and improved market efficiency to critical information delivery, enterprise data aggregation, public reporting and financial services.
