An iTWire report describes a ‘molecular delivery system’ demonstrated by Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo, working with researchers at the University of Tokyo, that the company hopes could eventually be built into a fingertip-sized ‘biochip’ inside a mobile phone. The chip would analyse molecules from a user’s sweat or blood to detect diseases or measure stress and anxiety levels, transmitting the results to a medical specialist over the mobile network for remote health checks and preventive medicine.
