Project
ENACQKT (Enhancing Nurses’ Access for Care Quality and Knowledge through Technology) was a University of Saskatchewan project, backed by Canada’s IDRC with $1.15 million in funding, to equip nurses across the Caribbean with personal digital assistants and wireless connectivity. Working in public hospitals in Dominica, the Dominican Republic, St Lucia, and St Kitts and Nevis, the project focused on HIV/AIDS, diabetes and hypertension — the region’s leading causes of death — aiming to improve point-of-care access to clinical information and evidence-based decision-making, with particular attention to marginalised and geographically isolated populations.
