Ericsson M-content

Report

A summary report of research by the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, funded by Ericsson, assessing current and future mobile content (m-content) requirements among end-users in India and Uganda. Based on surveys of 909 users in India and 602 in Uganda plus stakeholder consultations, the report finds that value-added services such as ringtones, games and wallpapers already contributed 5-10% of mobile operators’ revenues, with many targeting 100% growth in 2008, and identifies a growing focus among policymakers, operators and donors on developing m-content with positive socio-economic impact.
