Report
A blog post from Grameen Foundation’s AppLab initiative analyses nearly 3,000 calls made to AppLab Question Box (AQB), a live hotline in Uganda’s Mbale and Bushenyi districts that connects rural villagers to local-language operators who research and answer their questions using the internet and approved databases. Built with partners Appfrica Labs and Open Mind, and working with Uganda’s National Agricultural Research Organisation, the service found that roughly two-thirds of questions concerned agriculture — most commonly crop pests, diseases and nutrient problems — followed by health, education and local news.
