Established in October 2005 by the Global System for Mobile Communication Assocation, the Development Fund is expanding access to mobile communication in the developing world. Their projects include Shared Access to Voice, Shared Access to Data, the Schools Connect Programme, Disease Surveillance, and the Alternative Energy Programme.
