The GSMA’s ‘The Mobile Economy 2013’ report, prepared with A.T. Kearney, presents a comprehensive picture of the global mobile industry — spanning mobile proliferation and regional growth differences, the role of data as the industry’s primary growth driver, and the evolving ecosystem of mobile network operators, equipment manufacturers, infrastructure providers and OS platforms. Drawing on GSMA’s network of nearly 800 mobile operators and 230 ecosystem companies across more than 220 countries, the report examines how operators are developing value propositions beyond core voice and data services and building collaboration models with other industry players.
