‘The GSMA Development Fund Top 20’, a 2008 report prepared for the GSM Association by consulting firm HMS Wireless, surveys and categorises the leading research on the economic and social impact of mobile communications in developing countries. The report reviews macroeconomic, microeconomic and social studies of mobile’s impact, sets out recommendations for further research and required stakeholder actions, and compiles an extensive literature review of additional studies, case studies and policy analyses on mobile communications in the developing world.
