Kerjalokal Village Phone Women

Report

A post on Grameen Foundation’s AppLab blog describes a training session in Tangerang, a suburb of Jakarta, Indonesia, where 20 existing Village Phone Operators were trained to become agents for KerjaLokal, a mobile-based job-matching service accessed via a WAP browser on Huawei handsets. The new agents, many of whom had little or no prior internet experience, learned to help local job seekers browse a micro-site and use an algorithm-based tool to match them with nearby work opportunities.
