Learning about Living runs MyQuestion and MyAnswer, two mobile-based information and advice services that let young people in Nigeria ask questions about adolescent reproductive health and HIV/AIDS by SMS, online or by phone. Launched in November 2007 by UK charity OneWorld UK and Butterfly Works with Nigerian health NGOs, MyQuestion is answered free of charge by trained counsellors at the Abuja office of Education as a Vaccine Against AIDS, while MyAnswer runs a monthly quiz that rewards correct entries with airtime, encouraging young people to engage with sensitive health topics they might otherwise be too shy to raise out loud. The services received more than 2,500 contributions from young people.
