Project
meditxt is a UK patient communication tool from txttools that uses SMS to help NHS trusts manage appointments, reducing the roughly 11% of outpatient appointments where patients fail to attend. Integrated with a trust’s core booking system, it can send appointment reminders, cancellations and test results, provide an inbox for patients to reply or request appointments, and let staff create templates and send one-to-many messages through a secure web control panel. With around 58 million mobile phones in the UK and text messages typically delivered within ten seconds, the tool aims to cut the estimated £80 cost of each missed appointment while improving access for patients who are otherwise hard to reach.
