Mobiles Transforming Agriculture

Article

A CGIAR ICT-KM blog post by Antonella Pastore on m-agriculture — the use of mobile phones, laptops, netbooks, PDAs and other wireless devices to deliver agricultural services, disseminate information and support communication in farming. It reports on a knowledge café on m-agriculture held at the 2010 IAALD Congress, building on a series of CTA-organised sessions and a 2009 ICT Observatory wiki, where panelists shared examples ranging from alerts on new agricultural literature to community-based projects sharing crop-sale information among women farmers.
