mPro Care is a two-way mobile diabetes management service from Gold Mobile’s healthcare division, Mobile Health Tech, first trialled commercially at Clarkstown Medical Associates in New City, New York in 2009. The system sends patients customised medication reminders and motivational messages by SMS and lets them text back blood-sugar readings, which are logged on a diary-card graph accessible to both patient and physician through a secure online portal, aiming to improve treatment compliance among the more than 23 million Americans living with diabetes and reduce the cost of managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and asthma.
