Seal Tracking

Article

An Athens News Agency report on Victoria, an orphaned baby Mediterranean monk seal rescued off the Greek island of Tinos, being fitted with a mobile tracking device before her release into the National Marine Park of Alonissos. Raised and taught survival and hunting skills over three and a half months by staff and volunteers at the Society for the Study and Protection of the Mediterranean Seal (MOm), Victoria’s mobile-linked tag allows conservationists to monitor her progress in one of the world’s largest monk seal sanctuaries.
