Report
A Field Action Report in the American Journal of Public Health describes SEXINFO, a text-messaging sexual health service developed by Internet Sexuality Information Services (ISIS-Inc) and the San Francisco Department of Public Health in response to rising gonorrhea rates among African American youth. Young people could text “SEXINFO” to a five-digit number to receive a menu of coded replies covering topics such as pregnancy, HIV and consent, each linking to referrals for in-person clinical and social services, with the service developed and refined through focus groups with local youth and a consortium of community and faith organisations.
