A Grameen Foundation AppLab blog post on the MoTeCH (Mobile Technology for Community Health) initiative’s workshops in Accra, Ghana, where local women wrote and recorded songs about pregnancy, motherhood and childbirth to be delivered to expectant mothers as interactive voice content on mobile phones. The workshops surfaced key cultural lessons — including women expressing a preference for an easy delivery, family pride, and being called a good wife — and produced sessions in both Kassim and Karkam, the two main local languages used in the project.
