California SMS

Project

The Wireless Foundation and the American Red Cross have set up an SMS service which allows subscribers to make a charitable donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and assist relief efforts in the 2007 Californian wildfires. The appeal utilises the Text 2HELP™ program established by their partnership. Subscribers of participating wireless carriers donate $5 to relief efforts by texting “GIVE” to “2HELP” (24357). The 2007 wildfires in southern California caused tragic loss of life, serious injuries and enormous damage.
