When the Kenya National Examinations Council made it possible for parents and students to query KCPE results from their mobile phones, they demonstrated two critical issues about technology. First, that it is possible; it is no rocket science to deploy SMS technology. Second, that technology is about real people. This general article focusses on the adoption of ICT in Kenya, including mobile.
