Indian Blood

Project

Indianblooddonors.com runs an SMS helpline that connects patients in urgent need of blood with registered donors across India, addressing a chronic national blood shortage that often forces families to search desperately for a match. The free, volunteer-run service lets people register as donors and matches requests to nearby donors within minutes, drawing on a large donor database that spans the country and working with hospitals and blood banks to help save lives, and was named a finalist in the AMGEN Patient Choices Empowerment Competition in recognition of its work.
