Rice farmers in the Philippines who have problems with their crops are now finding it easy to get assistance from scientists and experts from the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice). Using their own or borrowed cellular phones, the farmers are able to text their queries or requests for information on rice production problems to a new “Farmers’ Text Center”.
