Satellife

Project

AED-SatelLife’s Center for Health Information and Technology has long promoted the use of mobile computing to improve health outcomes in low-resource settings, running programmes such as the seven-year Uganda Health Information Network, which supported health workers collecting data and accessing information via PDAs and the local cellular network, and the Mozambique Health Information Network, which built similar data collection and reporting capacity. Alongside these projects, SatelLife runs free HealthNet News e-newsletters and global health discussion groups covering essential drugs, HIV/AIDS and other topics, and offers tools including GATHERdata for turning mobile-collected data into real-time reports and GUIDE for converting large clinical documents into mobile-friendly formats.
