Telecom Use on a Shoestring: Expenditure and Perceptions of Costs amongst the Financially Constrained

Report

A LIRNEasia working paper (WDR0610), published in September 2006 by Moonesinghe and colleagues, on what people with little money spend on telecoms and how they view the costs. It is based on a survey of 3,199 respondents at the bottom of the pyramid: 2,099 in India and 1,100 in Sri Lanka. The 26-page paper looks at spending on telephone use among financially constrained users and at how they perceive the cost of staying connected, contributing to LIRNEasia’s wider research on telecom use among low-income people.
