Project
Ushahidi.com is a tool set up for people witnessing acts of violence in Kenya during the post-election troubles in late 2007/2008. Using the service, members of the public were able to report incidences of violence, riots, property loss, death and rape via the web or SMS, along with information on areas where peace initiatives were trying to take hold. Incidents were plotted on an interactive map following verification from local Kenyan NGOs.
